Weed Control Plans

The most important part to a successful weed control lawn care program is the correct timing of each application. If your main concern is minimizing weed growth in the growing season, a well timed early spring (March) pre-emergent treatment is crucial for weed suppression for the summer. Missing or late applications typically result in a difficult summer for weed control. Starting a weed control plan in (late) April, May or mid season will result in us having to apply several broadcast herbicide treatments after weeds have already germinated. Applying post emergent herbicides typically will cause your lawn to stress prematurely during June and July. We prefer to complete a well timed early spring pre-emergent treatment and follow up with as needed spot treatments in the summer. Starting an early spring and mid fall pre-emergent plan with Cowboy Lawn and Sprinkler will help ensure your lawn stays healthy and weeds are controlled without having to use a lot of herbicides every month.

No lawn is 100% weed-free 100% of the time. Golf courses that are maintained every day of the year still battle weed infestations and other lawn issues. Please understand our lawn care programs and weed control may take a few months to a full season to achieve full (or near full) weed suppression and a healthy nutrition balance in your lawn. We will be honest with what we can accomplish and in what time frame. If your lawn starts to show signs of pest damage or disease, we will assess and recommend a plan to resolve the issue.
